Awkwafina An American performer and actress, started with a series of rap songs dealing with issues related to sexuality and race. Her fame grew into Hollywood after she released a series of raps. Nora Lum, born in Forest Hills Queens to Chinese and Korean immigrants was her first music experience. She played the trumpet. Also, she received Jazz and classical training before becoming a hip-hop teenager. When she was in college, she concentrated on her studies, and then took up a degree in women's studies as well as journalism. The latter song was linked directly with another Awkwafina project NYC Travel Guide, which was published in 2015. The singer decided to make acting as a profession after completing her first two ventures as a musician and author. Apart from the early television shows such as Girl Code and Tawk, she has also been featured in movies like Neighbors2Storks, and Bad Rap. In 2018, she landed several major roles like Dude Ocean's 8 or Crazy Rich Asians. The EP debuted in June.
