Kristen Anne Bell, born 1980 in the US of America, is an actor and singer. She is an Michigan native who was born and was raised by her parents Lorelei Frygier (a nurse) and Tom Bell (a TV news director). She is of Polish (mother's) as well as German (father's), English, Irish and Scottish ancestry. Kristen's talents for performing were recognized at an early age. In 1992, Kristen went to her very first audition. The audition was for the role in Raggedy Ann And Andy. Bell was appointed by her mom as an agent when she was just thirteen years old. Bell was later cast for newspaper ads and commercials on TV. In the same year she began taking training in private acting. Bell had a small uncredited performance as a character Polish Wedding (1998) in 1998. Bell was a student at Shrine Catholic High School where she took part in musical and drama club. In her school's show of The Wizard of Oz, Bell won the role of Dorothy. After graduating, Bell moved to New York City to attend the highly regarded Tisch School of the Arts, where she was a musical theater student. Bell quit the school in 2001, when she was cast in the role Becky for Tom Sawyer. In 2001, she made her first credit debut as Becky in Pootie Tang. The film was cut, however the film cut her character from the film and she only appears in the credits. Bell was part of the Broadway revival of The Crucible starring Liam Neeson and Angela Bettis.
