Golf is not like the other ball games. It does not have a standard playing area. It is difficult to adapt to the diverse terrains of each course. Courses typically have either 18 or 9 holes, regions of terrain that each contain a cup, the hole that receives the ball. Every hole on a course contains a teeing ground to begin with, and putt greens that contain the cup. There are several types of terrain that lie between the green and the tee. This includes the fairway and rough (high grass) and various other hazards, such as the bunters that are sand-filled. Every hole on the course of golf is unique. It can be played in match play or stroke play. Stroke game is the most played game, particularly at elite levels.
